I started to paint my work, carefully listening to what I feel within me. That had not been my intention. I’ve been focusing on the color, on the gesture with which one applies the paint on canvas. The character took birth by itself. What satisfies me most is the fact that its emotions disseminate out and around it, circulating between the interior and the exterior. The piece is painted on a printed-paper representing an architectural plan. Sometimes, the surfaces are already covered with something, which inspires me. I have applied the paint on such a surface trying to follow the interior pulse-beats, keeping them vivid, authentic and avoiding the emptiness of the pure mechanical gestures. The character took birth by itself. The movement of black on the paper reflects its mood, which is only sober, serious and dignified, without gloom.

It's about suffering, about transcending one's limits. The secret suffering of this life. But not as a fatalistic view. The cruelty of life is as real as it is the ability to overcome it.
